Why'd you put them in scraps? I love these pieces, especially the expressions. We look at different bugs with different attitudes and I feel like the expressions on the faces really capture that. The splattered paint reminds me of what they look like when we squish them and actually makes me feel guilty. (Most times they do nothing to us, right?)

I have an idea about these pieces but I'm not sure exactly how to say it. I think the simplicity of these three pieces results in a greater impact as opposed to three detailed and/or "cluttered" pieces. Maybe that doesn't make sense... but I tried. I'm sure most of the time my interpretations of your pieces are way off the mark, but I love how they always get me thinking.

Thanks a lot for your interpretation on that! I didn't even think of it that way. I think as an artist you should stay away from interpretation as much as you can. Let the picture do the talking. Let the viewer give it a meaning.

That being said.. I never looked at it that way! It gives the picture a whole other meaning!.


For me it was an experiment like I said. That's why I put them in scraps.
