Ok. Here we go. It's that time of year again- PA Computer Fair.(my entry last year was [link] and I WON 1ST IN THE STATE with it
)This is actually quite a personal piece. I wanted to show my feelings towards being a young adult and missing childhood places and such.
The child is a younger version of the girl shown- she's faded *sigh* like memories often do.
(i hope i win this year... that'd be really cool...)

just a whole lot of layers and a whole lot of time, putting about all 150layers together.
erasing and rotating and etc etc...
basically all that haha

nope, but at the end of putting everything together, I did create a flattened version and have it overtop everything, that way I could easily change the whole image's color to how I wanted it

if you stare at it for about a minute, the darkness around the edge seems to go towards the middle...try it...was that suppose to be the effect?

i hadn't considered a shadow- only because the day I took the photos it was very overcast and dead. But thank you for the suggestion

I... I saw this... at the faire....... :0!!!!
And I remember telling my art teacher that I was really dissapointed that it didn't get 2st cause I really didn't like the whole "logo" angle the judges went for. XD!
Hahahahaa, that was our school district's first time at the faire in Carlisle. :3
We had held our first regionals ever for our schools and I had won in the graphic design category... I think it's funny that we competed against each other in the same category before we met here at college!!

yeah- i won 1st at the state fair the year before it, so I was rather irritated i got honorable mention... $25... haha i don't even sell my prints for that amount

I had a lot of fun though, since it was my first time ever a States. :3
I bugged my art teacher the whole time. XD!
I used Carlisle as a threat.... he would like, throw tape at me and I would yell and say "HEY.... I'm gonna be stuck with you in a school van for 6 hours... you better be nice to me, bub! D:<"

Very nice idea but needs some improvement. First of all it's too visible it's manipulated. Some parts are more blurry than others. Everything needs to be sharper and fit together better. And this image needs some more depth as well. Feels flat somehow.

i kinda wanted it to seem cartoonish in a way- otherworldly. I looked over my piece after your comments and still am not able to see the overly blurry areas that you mentioned. I do see how my overlapping "textures" create varying degrees of sharpness though. Also, you mentioned it needed depth- but I wanted the piece to look as flat as possible- to add a bit of an old-photo feeling.
I do not feel my piece "needs" to be changed, as you say, but I respect your opinions.

Ok, I could understand you want it to be "flat" like an old photo but still I think it needed more depth but hey that's me.
About the blurry areas I was refering to the litle kid and some edges here and there, but I guess on closer look that they are not really blurry, rather the level and sharpness of the details is different. Some places seem more detailed than others. I think it would look better if it was more even which would make everything merge together more easily.

ooo the little kid hahaha he's suppose to "not be there". She's a memory. She's the older girl when she was younger, as if the Older girl is remembering her childhood- that's why the little one is fuzzy looking and transparent and such.

And on further looking I can see you have some bigger transparent texture covering the whole pic right? I think it might be that one that bothers me.
