The Red Alert 3 infantry look more... human, except for the tesla trooper, looks like something that came out of bioshock. But I do miss all the threatining face masks.

I love the Flak Trooper. He has the best lines, the most lines and is better for anti-air than the flak cannon.

I'm trying to figure out how to build a spudgun designed like his flak gun.

well, if I were to make a flak tropper gun powered by compressed air I'd use a 1ft peice of 3/4in steel pipe thats pre-threaded on each end as the tank, and put a 3/4in ball valve on one end to shoot the gun, and attach a 1ft peice of pvc to it as the barrel, and on the other end of the tank place the valve to fill it and cover it with a peice of funnel or some other cone for the back end, and spray the whole thing with aluminun spray paint and glue a wood stock and handle to it.

I'm leaning towards a 2" barrel(PVC) and either a 2" or 3" chamber. Chamber would be sort of boxy if done with 2"(because it would have to have a t and related parts to get enough chamber volume), and using a stub end attached to the back for the flare. A 2" sprinkler valve(modded of course) would be well suited to the task.

Another option would be to use a 1 1/4" barrel and a 2" chamber and rig it up as a coaxial piston system(the whole gun is contained inside the chamber). Would look cleaner and more complete and more like the gun, but would be much less powerful. If I could ever find 3" fittings(pressure rated), I'd do it as a 1 1/2" barrel(40mm, the most likely size of his gun) and a 3" chamber. The problem for that is developing a good piston for the valve.

well I know a 1ft barrel on a 1ft chamber filled to 150 psi all with a 3/4 in diameter can launch a tomato out of sight

And I know a 1" barrel(4ft long) and 2" chamber(3ft long) as an inline with a sprinkler valve will put a pykrete slug through a coffee can at 100 PSI.

If I could ever get GGDT working I'd have solid numbers to work with.
