This is an old work, made a couple years back and, I just put the finishing touches. I followed an old tutorial of Tim Von Rueden “Drawing an Environment Using Silhouettes” at CG Cookie site. It was the colors the green/orange combination of the sky that made me try this tutorial and, create my own version of an environment. Note that in this tutorial the program that is used is Photoshop but, I made mine with Krita. You can follow along with any kind of program that supports some basic brush settings, layers and, blending modes.
