Original artwork this time. I created a uniform for a futuristic [fictional] marine force . Standard rain. More lineless art here. Scanned a sketch and traced it in adobe photoshop and painter. I got this nude picture too to get her proportions right. Not a single bit of pencil or pen can be seen in this art. I also used a different type of colouring style. I used the bevel and emboss and gradient tools A LOT to create shadows. This was done make the production time quicker. The brush tool was used on occasion. Too bad this is a low res version. The high res 300 DPI one you can see the texture on her suit. Iām entering this in a competition too. Critiques are Welcome.Done in Photoshop CS and small bits done in Painter IX.

This is just beautiful. Her eyes are electric and menacing... you can she'd do anything for her country. The textures (as well as what I can see on the suit) are amazing. The helmets are original and eerie -- definitely not a soldier you wanna f7ck with. Proportions are great and I love the perspective with the out-of-focus soldiers toward the back.

That looks great. I like how the girl in front has her helmet off. It adds nicely to the piece. It gives the eye something to focus on. You may want to add constrast to their uniforms, so we can make out their bodies.

i love it X3 the texture and stuff are all so awesome...i like how her face stands out,and it's very unique ^^^the ones i would pay attention are the lips (that seem odd to me,even if this is intentional>>;

I love the marks on her face, they add to the dark expression so much. Her face seems blank but you can see the eyes hold nothing but the determination to do what ever job is given.
I like how you've made the hair cling and unrully, it looks like she's been out in the rain for a long time or has been out working and hasn't had a chance to wash the sweat from her yet. The one strand... why does everyone have that one strand? That is a clever observation.
The faceless soliders behind her help focus attention onto her but also add to the darkness of the picture. They are faceless fighters, creatures of war. Nameless to almost everyone.
This is a REALLY nice work.

This is really awesome. The anatomy is great, you really did a good job on it. The idea is really cool. The outfits alone make me wish I could be one of them. lol It looks wonderful.

Brightening up the screen, you can see all the awesome details and stuff (Teh pen XD). Like the patterns on her arms and gloves. What's even more amazing is that face. It's like she's compelled for something. Serious, yet it looks somewhat brain-washed. And it looks like it's goth 200+ years in the future. Yes.

cuz she was the first one i drew.. the background girls are just her with the helmet on her body. cept some of them have her boob size, and have bigger boobs and smaller ones too.. and i wanted to show how they look like under there. :3. she also had about 3 more peircings but i had to remove them cuz the silver didn't look right. [i have problems redering silver ]

Wow, amazing! ^^ I might be strange, but I like the way you drew the woman's salute. I'm kinda picky when it comes to drawing hands in that position. I guess since I'm a cadet, it explains my pickiness. The hand is nice and flat, no thumb showing, and the arm is parallel to the ground.
Anywho, I love her expression, the girl looks like she's stareing a hole in the wall, or, err something!

i used to. but i found that alot of them tutes really never actually helped. cuz alot of people keep their techniques secret. i usually play around with different styles. cuz i'm not happy with what i can do yet. that's why i shifted from flat colours to air-bushing, then to cel shading, and a combination of cel shading and gradients. this one is a new type i used. i figured it out on the spot cuz i had trouble going back to air brushing

wow..what do i really say to that besides, keep up what your doing and hopefully you'll discover something your absolutely happy with. thanks for commenting back though also. I guess I should play around with some different techniques too and try to make work out of thoses for starters and build up on (them) as i go along.

I'm liking this for all of the good reasons.
Stylisticly dark. Very smooth, yet very detailed. And the textures are great.
Love the colours in this. It's great how anything goes with black in this piece. It works so well.
Composition and form is very impressive. The stylistic figures and designs are very top-notch cool to look at.
I'm always afraid of getting too much dark in my colouring, but you seem to hit it off really well. It's just so...flowing.

thanks! i was afraid of goin full on black in this one. because black has never been one of my best strengths. every one usually says it's too dark. and u can't see the details. in this one .. if it's too dark.. it's meant to be too dark :3.

Wow! That gals face gives this a LOT of impact. I love how the face's skin is just one tone making it look flat, especially with the hair just stuck over it, but the eyes and make up are complete opposites featuring lots of detail and fading tones. The design in general is just fantastic, and I love the effects you've used on the heltmet and the backqround.
Actually, would you mind telling my how you did that sky? I could really use some advise.

The clouds were done by taking some photos i put on the net.. stretching them out.. then get another cloud photo and putting them over it.. i do this over and over and over again. with at least 3 different cloud photos making touch ups.. to blend one cloud photo to the next i use different layer blending modes.. i use soft light and over lay and sometimes screen... i also desaturate the photos in one layer or two and i get this really great finish. then i flatten the cloud then put some extra colour work in it.. then i use the watercolour filter that is standard in photoshop to give it that painted look. and voila! enjoi!

Man this is awesome. I really love your designs and all the interesting details you put into them.
This is definitly diferent from what you usually draw, which is a good thing. But if someone showed this to me I'd say without a doubt- It's Raf's artwork.
I love the female there, her face looks great and you have a great style, plus her piercings and makeup look awesome. I love the uniform and the helmet. I think the helmet is my fav part though... the reflections are so amazing. I just noticed them after I viewed this in full version though. Very well done. Her proportions look fine to me, I'm a girl but I have to say that her breasts look cute XD; I'd probably make her waist thin (as in... really thin) to make her even more elegant. But since she's a soldier that's not needed.
