Whoever kept this Redfoot before your friend rescued it, had it on a high protein diet. Redfoots are more omnivorous than other tortoises, but high protein is still useless, crappy diets. :c Owning a Red or Yellowfoot just means you can feed them fruit or meats as a treat, but people think they do it all the time.

Thick plastron, raised pyramidal scutes, cleft beak, blunted downward pointing nose, scutes above the neck are far too thick as well. Must've been fed on bugs and dog food or something. Real shame. :c

Easily reversed though, if they're young enough. If it gets trained onto high fibre food, dark leafy greens, D3, B12 and that lower jaw gets watched carefully, the lil guy should be fine within a year or so.

I think he was a rescue tortoise, but I'm really not sure, my co-admin took this.

I have a tortoise.. I have him for like 10 years or so...he had his upper jaw to long so I took him to the vet and he cut his "beak", but he couldn't cut it to it's normal size, but at least I know eating is much easier now.
Also for the whole time I had him I didn't read any manuals I gave him food and when he liked it he ate it and when not he didn't....now I'm looking through many forums..and what I saw there, I'm just terrified, most of the things i had given him are bad for his health...so now i don't know what to do...change his diet or stick to the things he was eating all this time. the vet said that he is one strong and healthy tortoise

Thank you, the lighting was horrible so I had to do a fair bit of adjusting the white balance and the colour balance. The bastard wouldn't stand still, those things move fast, which made macro photography really hard in the poor lighting.

I was literally crawling after the guy on the floor
