Description
This was a fun illo inspired by the Violet fans here on dA, and an illustration I came across by the Amazing Cheeks-74 .I had initially intended to have Dash jumping around trying to distract her, but it seemed more serene without it. Might decide to add him in later.

I don't mean to be a downer. But you're aware that the Incredibles franchise takes place in the '50s, correct?

In actuality, iPad's aren't available in her time period, lol.Β At best, she'd be watching black and white TV

May I ask why she has the Syndrome pillow? After all, he tried to murder her and her family, and abducted her baby brother.

What I find interesting is that laptops and tablets didn't really exist when this film takes place, and tablets weren't really a thing when it came out (2004), either. I think the film takes place in a vague time spanning from the mid 70s to the mid to late 90s.
Okay, so maybe there were laptops, but I don't remember seeing any. Syndrome and Edna have advanced technology, though.

True...if I remember correctly...it was supposed to be the mid 70s to early 80s.
Although I've heard some fans argue that it could have been any time.
In my twisted fic-verse/rpg setting (which amusingly enough, is still used by other gamers which I find kind of cool), I took the kind of approach Warner Brothers did when they did the original Batman TAS.Β Basically, it has a sort of retro-feel, but it is set in modern day.Β Of course...my twisted setting (as you can see from some of my renders) is set 8 years after the film.
BUT...you are correct on the actual canon setting.Β If I remember right, Edna even talks about some of the failed heroes (those who had capes and died) and recites the dates (which were around the 1950s and 1960s).

Well, that and I think Pixar (like Dreamworks) uses Macs for their work anyway.

Pixar was co-funded by Steve Jobs.
