That scene in turn is a reference to the 1922 film Nosferatu en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosferat… (which Spongebob was able to use since it's in public domain).

I loved the old Spongebob. It really beat the newest seasons today. Now it's just messed up and completely out of sense.

A late reply, but AGREED.
Seasons 1-3 were the "golden age" of Spongebob. Every season that came after the movie has simply gotten, well, worse.

Scary? Wow! I actually never thought of that, I found it funny and confusing as a kid. I never expected it to be scary, that genuinely surprises me! And I also learned Vampire in German! (P.S. I just did a search of the name again, It is the name of an old German Vampire movie, the vampire is taken directly from that movie! Look at the scene and the pictures from the movie!)
