Sentri (also sometimes incorrecty spelled Sentry) is the chief space fighter of the Centauri Republic during the timeframe of the original B5 teleision series. Armed with two ion cannons and twin pulse cannons for backup as well as being capable of carrying a small ordinance payload, it is both one of the largest and most power space fighter types fielded by any of the Younger Races. In Earth Alliance terms only its new Aurora Thunderbolt comes close, but the Centauri Sentri still holds the edge in acceleration and heavy armament. Like the EA Aurora Thunderbolt it is atmospheric capable as well as being a space fighter, and is among the best of its kind in terms of atmospheric combat. A standard feature of the Sentri is an onboard computer control system that can take over for the pilot in an emergency, such as temporary blackouts from excessive G-forces caused by extreme maneuvers. It has two weakness but they're big ones in space combat terms. It has no shields or armor to speak of, and this was a deliberate part of its design in order to save weight for everything else it has. This is where both EA Aurora types and certain of the better space fighter types fielded by other Younger Races have a definite advantage and one they can exploit -- provided they can pin a Sentri down long enough to do so. Sentri also lacks braking thrusters for the same reason, which means that less experienced Sentri pilots have a tendency to overshoot on a target run before they can bring their craft back around for another pass. More experience ones have learned to begin deceleration just as their target comes within range so they won't overshoot on the subsequent flyby, but its a telling difference between novice and experience Sentri pilots and one that can be exploited by any enemy aware of it. Sentri remained in service with the Centauri Repubic until they began to be replaced very late in the original B5 series timeframe by the Rutarian. That said, the large number of Sentris in serviceat that time meant that they were still going to be around for quite a while to come.

While I am not making my ports of any of the models from the fan-created SFC B5 model pack available for general download, you can go get the pack and port them yourself. You can still find it on places such as NexusMods and Lone Bullet, and almost all of them (save the B5 station itself, awwwwww!) port quite easily with the SFC model format plug-in for the old Milkshape 3D modeling program. Some of the various free 3D model sites online also have free fan-created B5 CG models of various subjects, so you try searching those too.
