From near the end of October 2014 comes this teaser piccy I posted for my now-defunct XNAVault site, highlighting some of the many classic spacecraft of Western science fiction whose models I had ported back then for XPS use. The EDS Yamato and EDS Andromeda space battleships are from Star Blazers, the Discovery and Leonov are from the 2001/2010 movie series, the Sulaco is from the movie Aliens (the second in the Aliens franchise), Hawk's ship is from the second season of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and the Eagle Transporter is of course from the classic British sci-fi TV series SPACE:1999. All of these are SketchUp ports, back when I had first learned how to do those, and you can still find them in the accounts of their original creators at Google's 3D Warehouse.
You can probably do a better job now of porting them than I did back then. I never did figure out how export panel lines, which is why both the Yamato and Andromeda look so bare and smooth. Far more detailed models of both have since become available, of course, but they proved a lot easier to port than others. FVY if you're looking for a good space battleship Yamato for XPS then Hanageya's seriously souped-up version of this old port of mine is still available. Here's a link for you:
As for the mighty Andromeda and other EDF ship classes, well ... you're on your own there.
