Zira looked down at the cub. She remembered how Scar has said she could drown, for all he cared.As much as Zira loved Scar, she did not like how lionesses were second best. Untill Kovu was ready, there would be no King of the Outlands. Zira would show them how strong females could be. She would train Vitani to be as strong as any male and even more clever and devious.

If you think about it, Zira is actually a pretty good queen. I mean she's ruthless and brutal and not the best, but she got her pride through living in terrible conditions. She raised very healthy and strong cubs (aside from Malnurished Nuka but that was during scar's reign) and an intire pride in a wasteland.

Powerful. Zira had the strength and ruthless nature of a male lion, she led her Pride with an iron paw, commanded her lioness like a drill Sargent, with that in mind, i can definitely see her favoring Vitani in such a way, not as a 'Queen', but defiantly as a female. Β Β

It's such a shame how Zira reacted to Vitani in the movie near the end. When Vitani stood up to Zira, she said "then you will die as well."
How could you say that to your own daughter. If the story about Vitani and Kopa is in fact true, then Zira must have thought that her daughter was weak for falling for a trick. A trick that Simba must've came up with to sprinkle salt on her already bleeding wounds. Zira shows so much hate....

I really like this, Vitani is a very strong and skillful lioness and I can really imagine Zira training her because of what Scar would say with a daughter born. Little 'Tani looks so sweet as she looks up at her mommy.
