Thank you for appreciating my work  I learned how to create the flower style by reading the dA "Apophysis Blooms" (2D and 3D) tutorials by lindelokse and polished the rendered output after reading a tutorial by CabinTom.  Apophysis is free to download and it does take a while to become familiar with the interface and what does what.  dA has an Apophysis Resources page that is really helpful from beginner onward. There are MANY other fractal generating programs out there, more than half of which I have not tried.  So far, I have used Apo, Chaotica, J-Wildfire and Incendia.  Of those, I would say that Apo is the easiest to learn and produce something cool.  Apo 2.09 and 2.08 3D Hack are great for Win Xp and 7x-15C is good for newer systems.  7x won't cooperate with my Xp system, so I am into 3D Hack for Apo flowers.  If you would like to pursue fractals, get a copy of Apo and start tinkering with it, it's fun!  As for my work..........my experience with software and PC's spans decades (yeah, I am old, haha) but it would have taken me half a year or more  to produce this type of art without learning from others like the members at dA who posted those quality tutorials.  Okay, hope I didn't say too much

No you didn't say to much... I am actually drawn to fractals and would looooove to learn to design them... Oh and you are not old... I have had a computer in my home every since the first apple computers (avalable for home use), my dad loved piddleing with them (he passed earlier this year) Now I seem to have married a computer nerd... He is an IT in the Navy.

That's cool.  I am sorry to hear about your father........mine is 91 and may follow soon. Loved those first Apples with the GUI and the little trash can that wiggled when you discarded a file.  Funny how some other company (MS) was doing the same thing. We won't go into that.  Back to fractals..... you should give it a try, they are in nature all around us and can be used to describe things like snowflakes, coastlines, ferns, flowers, etc.  Apo is a great toolbox and programs like J-Wildfire can have you producing nice flowers without having to spend time learning.  I stayed with Apo due to the speed of creating a fractal and the wealth of tutorials available.  Let me know if you have any questions and I can try to be of help.

It appears that you can use Wine to get 7X to run on the Mac.  Sorry I can't verify because my engineering career sent me down the Windows toilet and I have not been able to climb out due to all of the software that I have for that OS.    Check out some of the posts regarding 7X and Wine.
