Description
Shin Godzilla WIP, I've been working on him for the past few weeks while working on the Gigan model. Getting ready to pick him back up after the paint, pose, and render of Gigan. Figure if I start posting more wip pictures maybe I can help illustrate how I get from point A to Z for anyone that is interested in understanding the workflow in zbrush better, or someone can comment and critique along the way so I can learn and grow. That being said, hit me up if you have questions. As always, thanks for stopping byRelated content

Yes, please!
And I guess, how did you make it so simple in form?

Bro you have no idea how much I envy you and Dopepope just for having Zbrush. I'm just stuck with Sculptris

Well the stuff you're doing with sculptris is pretty epic. I wouldn't be too envious, if you didn't tell me it wasn't full on zbrush I wouldn't know.

I just wonder, when you model is the beasts you make all separate pieces? *Like Example: Jaw, body, fins, eyes, teeth, claws, arms/legs, etc*?

Depends, this guy is broken into multiple pieces right now, ie...body, arms, thighs, calves are all separate bits....even the tail is separate. The Monsturra character was all one big mesh and then separate meshes for the horns, claws, and spines on back. If I can get away with separate pieces in the design, that's what I lean towards. It makes it easier than polygrouping each component and I can get higher polycount where I need it. If I can't generally hide the seam of an arm or leg because of design, I just make it all one big model.

Very good to know !
Course if by chance I end up with say a monster with arms, legs and whatnot as separate parts I can try and seam them together in sculptris. I might actually try that in the future.
Thanks again for this info bud

"So that's Gojira."
Looking good! Though I will have to say, the tail could be longer... Because it is longer.

Lol, longest tail ever! Check out attached image, I think the perspective messes with the how it looks in the render from the front.

Ah... Much better. Yeah, perspective can make things look off.

Thanks Gabe, keep me posted with your 3d printing adventures. I'll be posting images of my progress after I get the printer in the next week or two. Are you guys using an SLA or FDM style printer?
