I was briefly speechless when I took a closer look at this. This is amazing!
The quality's great! To me it just seems like done by a professional, reminds me of concept art. The shading and the textures are also really good! Not to mention that I was pretty surprised that it's done on Inkscape, I thought one would need to get into raster painting to get effects and results like those.
Like I said, amazing!

Wow, thanks a lot! Yeah, I get these "it was really done in Inkscape?" from time to time I don't usually use textures; this here was an exception. I don't remember exactly but believe it was generated with Inkscape's filter editor..? As for shading, in my early digital pics I used a "flat" shading style, then moved on to using gradients for softer looking results. Even though I love working in vectors, I try to avoid that "typical vector look". Glad you like it.

Oh, Yeah, it's hard to figure out a way to do that with Inkscape with with all the irregular shapes and gradients one could see in a texture (I haven't figured out how to make forests with it yet), hence why I think that's really cool.
My Inkscape computer currently has technical issues but thanks for the information! Could be useful later on if I get Inkscape available again

Meh, tech issues suck. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Good luck with that!
In the Inkscape group on Facebook there's a user who posts lots of nature related images. Grass, plants, trees - those sort of things. He does quite impressive things with clones, e.g. draw a couple of basic leaves, then make a bunch (well, actually more like a ton) of clones, add some color variation, rotation and scaling and voila - there's your forest. Well okay, it's probably easier said than done BUT it can be done this way and as I said, if you know what you're doing you can even achieve quite convincing results.

Thanks! Hopefully, meanwhile I'm just trying out another medium that became available.
I didn't really know there was a Facebook group. The way I tried to do leaves before was with cloned leaves too, I ran into low FPS issues because of the sheer amount of nodes the image had and they maybe could have looked better. Perhaps checking out the facebook page could help solve at least some of those issues as well as figure out how to draw the forests and other things, thanks again!

Wow. I am speechless.
The idea is great and the execution is brilliant. I've been using inkscape for a while but your style is great.

Thank you thank you, glad to hear. I just realized that I've been using Inkscape for 5-6 years already myself. Time flies... ^^

I love it!
Even better that you used Inkscape to create it; that program's a beast.

... but a gentle beast that does what you ask from it most of the time Glad you like it. Thank you!
