Another amphibian of note is the aberrant sandscale toad. With a seemingly dry, tough exterior, they are well-adapted to life independent of liquid water, and thus are the sole amphibians for much of their range. However, their coverings are only rented, and they still rely on liquid water to reproduce, forcing them into a very strenuous life cycle to survive in the dry grasslands and deserts they call home.
