Description Moved to scraps because I preferred the original in the end. However, I do realise the potential of the curves and different layer types in developing these pages, so I'll probably use these kinds of techniques in later pages.

---DESCRIPTION---

Anyway, you may remember the pastel of page 23 [link] - this is the current version of page 23, which I wasn't too proud of. Well, with lots of use of the "curves" tool, and lots of layers I've pieced together a more appropriate version of the page, albeit still in need of further editing because the brash colours make it uncomfortable to look at. It does fit better for my intended atmospher for the scene and I'm sure I'll edit the following pages appropriately, although pages 26 and 27 are done in ink and this seems to be a growing trend for the comic due to how much I'm enjoying ink at the moment.

Anyway, this'll be a page that'll probably be updated a couple of other times, with previous versions sent to the scraps for archivey-ness. And then the final cut will probably be put in order with the others. I think the optimum is something with this kind of light and dark and those kind of red tones, but without the brashness of it. Anyway, enjoy. Look forward to some more LotG when I'm back to school and can scan it.

I know there's not been much stuff from me recently but I ussure you I've been drawing away! Just a lot of it's been for art coursework and hasn't really appropriated itself to my DA page... yet...

Oh, and here's another "MONSTER" plug. I know noone cares, but maybe if I keep on mentioning people will build up interest. 4 pages complete, one 3-page scene inked, and 1st page of another scene inked. Plus two pages inked which were going to be part of the comic but probably won't be because the idea of the comic has changed since then. I need to order the scenes before I publish them so I can see myself telling the story chapter-by-chapter or issue-by-issue as opposed to page-by-page as I have done with Last of the Good.

More Last of the Good to come too, for those of you who are fans of it. You're not many but I love every single one of you!

TTYL!

Wow! This looks so awesome! You did a very good job with coloring! There's a great mood to this picture, the shading on the char's face must be what make it like that.

thanks Glad you like how it looks. Like I say, I still prefer the original version [link] but I think the editing techniques I used have legs

Oh, the shadows look awsome! (Urgh, shadows. I rarely get the hang of it.)

thanks Shadows are just a case of practice, just like anything else. The more you do the better you get. And the darker they are the easier they are to pick out. That's why when you're doing an observed drawing it's often best to draw your object/model under a single hard light (like a table lamp), with the light coming from an angle so you get lots of hard light and hard dark. In fact, observed drawings would probably be a great exercise in getting the hang of them
