I’m one of the people that really enjoyed the ending to BATIM. I think that it’s FNaF style mystery ending was a nice touch, and figuring out the story was fun.

The working theory for me is that Henry is in an endless loop, put there by Joey Drew. He’s using real people to tell a story to fix his previous mistakes. Henry is trapped in a different, cartoony dimension and can’t escape until he breaks the loop, which he can’t. He’s stated in one of the wall messages “reliving the past does not change it”. He’s trapped.

That explains where Wally Franks is as well. He doesn’t appear, but there is a letter saying that he’s a grandfather living in Florida. Allison and Tom got married, then when Joey invited them back, the got trapped as well. So Wally did get outta there.

Joey is storyboarding the whole thing, trying to find a way to fix his mistakes through Henry, his best friend. He can’t, and just winds up torturing the poor man.

The girl at the end is NOT Linda; she’d be too old to be a child. Henry mentioned her 30 years ago. XD

However, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t related. My personal theory is that Joey and Linda were siblings, Henry married Linda, and the little girl at the end is their child, which is why she refers to him as “Uncle Joey”. Maybe it’s metaphorical, but I don’t believe that.
