When the colossal titan breached the wall, Ida had fallen asleep while she was drawing, alone in the house as her mother had went to the market earlier this day. The earth shaking woke her up, mixed with the desperate screams of people. Wondering what was going on, Ida went to the window, looking out just to see titans walking into Shiganshina. Frozen she stared at the scene for a while, her house not standing that far away from the wall, before she realized what was going on. Running out of the house, she looked worriedly for her brother.
Soon deciding that he could do well on his own, after all Martin was her great brother who had been in training for three years and even graduated as 6th out of many, she huried towards the gates as fast as she could to safe herself. It worked until an abnormal titan stormed forwards and broke into a house in front of Ida, forming a barriage - she couldn't move on and there it was, a titan right in front of her, eyes wide and mouth forming into something that looked like grin. Just when the titan was about to grab her, Ida's brother came out of nowhere and scooped her up, flying off with his 3DMG. Landing behind the titan, Martin let go of her and gave her a push to the direction of the gates, saying: "What the hell are you doing? Go, now, run, and survi-" He wasn't able to end the sentence. A hand grabbed him suddenly and showed him right into a big mouth, leaving nothing behind but muffled screaming and blood. And a girl traumatized for her life.
Ever since Ida blamed herself for her brother's death, swearing to someday revenge the person dearest to her someday. A person that thought her to smile no matter what, never to cry, to not care about what others say, to be just the way she wanted to be - yet now, this person she most cared about, was gone, not able to return, not ever being able to show her how to truly smile again, how to be truly happy.
