Description
This is an original character I made up for my TMNT story. This is Merma, a cat mutant.
Merma was a young stray cat April took in and was giving a home.
Merma was in close proximity to April when April was exposed to unstable Mutagen. Being the last animal she touched, April became a mutant cat herself. In this state, April was manipulated into attacking the Turtles. However, she was eventually calmed down, and a because of the unstable mutagen, a cure was devised by Donatello. This required the use of Merma as the DNA donor, and in using a new device, managed to cure April of her Cat mutation, but at the same time, it made Nerma a humanoid mutant herself. Donatello theorized he couldn't cure Merma without reverting April to a cat mutant herself, so Merma resigned to stay humanoid.
Merma is a fast and agile mutant with powerful claws and teeth, sharp senses and quick agility.
Merma has a strange relationship with April, sharing some of her personality traits do to partial memory transference. Her relationship as a cat is still somewhat intact, and she still sees April as a 'master', eventually leading April to see Merma as sort of an adoptive daughter because of her young age.
Merma seems eager to help the turtles in their fight, and is always there when April needs her, despite April being over protective of her and trying to ensure her safety. Still, Merma is a loyal friend of the turtles and April and is always around for social gatherings with the Turtles.
Despite being a Cat, Merma had one issue with Splinter being a Rat before putting it out of her mine. Likewise Splinter puts it out of his mind that Merma is a cat.
