“Antonio” wasn’t the best father around; he mostly had no idea how to be emotionally available to a child who was part pony and opted for “rough love” which is common with ahuizotl, especially the males. Females stay in pride like groups while males wonder alone...but since Night Light seems to have no mother, Antonio took the role as her guardian. As a child he took her to raid tombs, steal from notorious pirates and to fight off undead rulers of old. So, he pretty much was shit at his job, lol.
Small blurb: Ahuizotl are sexually dimorphic. Males are usually bigger and more colorful, while females are dull colored (hence why Night Light is grey and has none of her father’s bright, flashy colors). Males attract female ahuizotl with their beautiful colors, clean home and a dance.

Also I never knew ahuizotl were considered cryptids! I am really interested in cryptology and I happened upon ahuizotl not related to MLP. They look very otter-like so I decided to make Ahuizotl himself look like one. That pink nose he had was...odd. I might do a species study one day. I feel like since they are mostly from South America (or whatever the pony equivalent is) they are very much like birds of paradise.
