I also really like the pattern on the walls and the way you're playing with light. :3 I am having a little trouble reading what the perspective here is supposed to be, but that could also be because I'm really bad at it. XD

Lol no worries. Sometimes when a thing just isn't working but you still wanna go ahead with the piece, you finish it, call it done, and try to learn for next time. (Actually that's exactly how I felt about Stress Fever, that one with the interesting lighting, decent forms, and screwed-up everything else
Also if you want I could try putting a perspective grid over it or something. Can people transfer files in notes? I can't remember.

lol I know this feeling all to well. And I agree, I love working on the pirate piece its my favorite. I still need to scan it. X/ I keep getting busy and errand and forgetting. I'm going to borrow the church scanner and see if I can't get it to work tomorrow. I'll let you know how that goes. It's actually ready for transport.

That happens, its okay. Sometimes I have found that happens when it becomes a chore or if you are lacking story or plot, and it can be a struggle to put something together or write it as you go. I know the feeling. It's just a constant process.

I'm there with you with my story. I'm into what is consider a far future event and I'm having to actually start writing the story from the start, now that I know my idea isn't dumb. It got tossed into a corner mostly ideas and shorts and art. And bringing and breathing life into it is something else entirely. Very difficult.

I'm using a larger sheet of textured sketch paper instead of my go to so hopefully color sat will be better too. Methodically choosing colors and things takes a couple days. I've been trying to employ new tactics. I'll choose what I think I will need and start with base 12 then add or subtract colors from my palette. It's been working really well. I did it with our first two trades. I think its also why they have more faves than most things in my gallery. Lineart isn't popular. XD

I hope so I used to just grab colors willy-nilly since I kind of new what I was looking for and I would put them back and it was a pain to re-find them. Now I just get everything established before hand and then it's not as hard to fetch a prior color. I'm hoping to get a pencil case like this:www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/… 200 slot organizer and a bunch of other things to help me be more efficient like gamsol for blending.

Nice! Yeah that does seem like it'd be helpful. Is there any archiving benefits to gamsol over something else? Just wondering since I heard rubbing alcohol was a good alternative for artists on a budget/just practicing.

I've heard of that but I wonder since I've heard alcohol is costic (lol can't spell.) and I worry about the paper over time. Although I guess gamsol is mineral spirits?

Yeah, but I think that's only if you use too much? Like how the paper pills when using alcohol markers too much in one spot. Haven't heard of the paper on anyone's comic marker drawings or whatever denigrating so I don't know
