Description This is one of my early attempts (1988) at heavy figure modification. This was originally a Monogram/Aurora Godzilla kit. I completely rescuplted the skin texture with Testors white putty(makes great Godzilla skin!), lengthed the tail, added plates to his back, sharpened the claws, and slightly closed the jaw. As can be seen, I also radically changed the base by adding more ground work and rubble, as well as adding floors to the buildings(paper towel bits soaked in white glue and the crumbled up to look like collapsed floors). A lot of work, but a whole lot of fun!

I like your take on this kit... nice modifications that occupy just the right amount of sapce for a very pleasing display!

I built this kit's Polar Lights re-issue almost out-of-the-box years ago for my kids (as my own dad had done for me when I was but 5 years old), but I just HAD to add some floors and rooftops to those buildings! I also added a couple of painted pillow stuffing 'smoke plumes' to hide some of the bigger holes I didn't want to detail. I'll have to dig the old model out and get a camera (mine, alas, died, so my photography is on hiatus)...

I'm kitbashing two of these kits (an ancient, broken Aurora one coupled with a 'fresh' unassembled Polar Lights one) to lengthen the tail, and plan to make a diorama resembling an early scene in 'King Kong versus Godzilla,' where Big G attacks a military base. I'm using 1/144 and 1/160 scale buildings and vehicles. If I live for a couple hundred years, I might actually get around to fininshing it, along with multiple other projects!

I am trying to do something like this right now, yours is really inspiring. I am using Aves apoxie clay, but I only added a roof to his mouth and some skin texture, mainly in the chest and belly area. Great work!

Actually I'm not a member of this group. It sounds interesting though! I've tried to get to them via the group browser, but it doesn't seem to work. Would you by chance have the link or icon for them that you could share with me so I might go take a look and probably join?
