The second drawing in short series of "Godzilla II" (can't wait to see it!) deviations.

Since the Godzilla 2014 sequel (which is coming out in 2018) had been confirmed a few months ago, I decided to draw some concept art of the three classic Godzilla movie monsters (Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah) who are going to be revived in the upcoming film. This time, I decided to depict a Legendary-style Rodan, because I'm assuming that he'll be another one of the heroes (besides Godzilla and Mothra) that will protect our planet from the uprising threat of Ghidorah.

In this version of the "Terror of the Skies", I gave him a downy covering of fur on much of the body, just to give him a bit of accurate look (Legendary and Universal pictures probably won't even give their version of Rodan a furry coat at all; I just chose to do this, anyway), because he is a colossal pterosaur. The head shape is a combination of the original Rodan and the Schleich Quetzalcoatlus. I apologize if the skull appears to be more like of a regular pterosaur or even a bird; I didn't realize that until later on when I was drawing this. An element of the classic Rodan is also implied to this drawing: a reddish body color (this is what Legendary and Universal should do). There are also spines along his back and stomach, yellow-colored scales along his underside, webbed toes, and a "fin" at the tip of his dumpy tail.
