Description
The infamous three headed monster and king of terror, King Ghidorah, returns for another round of giant monster fighting in Code Red. This version is much more mobile than past incarnations, actively moving about the battlefielding and utilizing all methods of attack available. I've given him larger, more bat-like wings, as well as taloned feet and a plated underbelly. I liked how Keizer Ghidorah from GFW strayed from the usual pure-gold coloration, so I followed that idea, and gave my Ghidorah blue stripes. Unlike other Ghidorahs, this one is very much a close range fighter- he uses his coiling necks, sharp teeth, taloned feet, and spikey clubs. Myself, I would have added some GMK and Grand Ghidorah elements into the design as well, but I'd be a liar is I didn't say that this sort of design is what I would like to see of a redesigned Ghidorah if he appears in the Legendary Pictures Godzilla reboot.
I like that you didn't stick to the King Ghidorah versions of the character, either. The blue looks great on the wings, but the body stripes look kind of odd juxtaposed with the bright yellow. Blue highlights would look nice on the mouths, too.
If I had to say something, it's that his mouths look a little too tyrannosaur-like to me. Might just be the fact that all dragons I've conceptualized with have either short, rounded snouts or long, gharial-like snouts, though. Also, I would think that, if Ghidorah is partially terrestrial, he could have a little more length in the legs. But that's picking nits.
Really, I like the way it looks. Some of the anatomical details bug me, though, again, that's nitpicking. Still a solid piece of work.

Thanks very much for the thoughtful critique, it's not often I get that on deviantART and I appreciate that you were interested enough in the piece to look at it that closely and comment. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this was uploaded over five years ago. If I were to draw a Ghidorah redesign today I wouldn't do it this way either. 
For what it's worth, though, I'm in total agreement with you about the anatomy. The legs in particular are almost comically short... I think Code Red as a whole had a lot of anatomical problems like that because I wasn't well-versed in proportions yet. The saurian heads were really just a matter of taste- highschool me just thought they looked cool.

I must say that I love what you have done with King Ghidorah. You took all the good parts from his previous designs, mixed them together and then added a nice touch of your own as well. Great job.
