Weight: 5.9-6.8 lbs.

Tree banded armadillos are an arboreal division of the classification, native to North and South America. The name is derived from the irregular texture of their armor, which mimics the texture of tree bark.
The common tree banded is a relatively petite and an exemplary example of the average tree banded. The inner and outermost toes on the hind foot have become flexible and strong, like the innermost toe of primates. The hand has decent sized claws to dig into tree bark.
