Description Bearded lemursquatch
Scientific Name: Erectolemur gigaticus
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 557 lbs.
Habitat: rainforest
Region: Madagascar
Ancestor: unknown lemur
"Lemursquatch" is given to describe members of the erectolemuridae, a family of non-arboreal lemurs that can do what modern lemurs can't; they walk upright. While some have achieved large sizes, this is due to lack of competition. Their bipedalism is actually incredibly primitive, by standards of upright primates, and lemursquatches have only just recently evolved.
The bearded lemursquatch is the largest of the group and features very little anatomical differentiation from other lemursquatches; the have broad, slouched shoulders, long, muscular arms, thick, stocky bodies, short, bowed legs, and vestigial tails.
A male's beard indicates his age and virility. The healthiest males have beards that can stretch down to their chests. Bearded lemursquatches live in matriarchal mobs, except for males which usually live alone. This changes in the mating season, when males congregate around a mob of females to breed. Their is a hierarchy among breeding males, indicated by the color around their masks. While most males' faces are white, the dominate male in of a territory has a silvery sheen to his facial fur, earning him the title "silver head." He naturally mates with many, or even all, of the mob, then just kinda leaves. No goodbye, nothing, just of to mate again.
Like most lemursquatches, they have much flatter teeth for chewing plant matter.

Ruffed Lemur or Sifaka could be a possible ancestor to the Lemursquatch.

I don't really care. Although, I don't believe they were picked as survivors. My reference was the red fronted lemur. I don't think sifakas can even walk.
