Description

The smol slayer(pun intended) is a circuagodog bred to hunt, kill and also deliver smols, poppits that live underground. It is small so it can better squeeze into burrows and it can dig reasonably well. It is also used to guard fields from wild herbivores.

The Field Guardian is a Cutthroat descendant that hunts small prey on fields of the sea stewards. Such as this poppit. Otherwise the fields would be eaten barren. Today most fields are guarded either by jackal Carnackles, smol slayers or by snifflers, so the field guardian has become quite rare but there are still a few hundreds of them in many fields on the mainland.

While the Field Guardian appears quite unrealistic it should not be forgotten that most of the predator species were tamed, because lost young were adopted by the sea stewards. This was certainly the case for the Cutthroat, some lost cubs were taken and employed to hunt small prey(they are ambush predators that usually tackle large prey, but here they switched their diet to smaller prey) , and since had offspring with wild Cutthroats themselves, but kept close to the sea stewards over time there were enough for a sustainable population to develop. They were usually kept outside the villages as not to endanger people, but became tamer over time and have kept their position as field guard and pest hunters. They went extinct in the wild, as the Sawjaws outcompeted them there, but they still have their place on the fields at the margin of the sea stewards villages.

The fisherman foxtrotter is a foxtrotter which catches fish and snarks at lakes and streams. It will eat its share and throw the rest into a container for later consumption and for the sea stewards. It is quite trusted and can be found inside of villages and towns frequently, as it does not have dangerous shearing jaws and has a very friendly temperament.

Sawjaws were bred as hunting animal too.

The Sniffler is more primitive and more similar to the hugger, it is rather small sized. It has a very good nose, so it helps with tracking prey.

The Hunter is basically a hunting dog and looks like a tame sawjaw, because it is exactly that. It is larger and stronger than snifflers and can catch larger prey. They sometimes are used to shepherd domestic omniphages, but Chasers(Jackal Carnackles) are usually used for this role.
