When the Antlear people and the social Gravediggers left their only home, the forest refugia, which was dying because of the cold, they ventured into the unknown.

Soon they found themselves in a unfamiliar biome, the Bramblelands. This land is not only home to many unknown plants, but also to many unknown animals.

Many of them are quite harmless, and many of them are not agressive such as the ice age thorngrazers. Then there are the sabertoothed circuagudogs, which are dangerous, but well known. This creature however was unknown to the antlear people until now.

And it is not a peaceful creature either...

This is a massive, stocky and dangerous Bramblebreaker. And he is a bad tempered creature.

Now the Woodcrafters and social Gravediggers are in trouble.

Luckily for them, this Bramblebreaker does not have any cubs to protect, and he already had breakfast.

This means that he is not as agressive as usual.

He was walking around when he encountered them randomly.

He did not bother to attack them, instead he just stood his ground, unafraid of these many unfamiliar creatures with sticks, but unwilling to risk attacking so many of them.

The woodcrafter vanguard don't want to attack either, they only want to protect their travelling party, so they raise their spears but do not wave them much.

The poor social gravedigger in the vanguard never saw such a terrible beast in his entire life, he is frozen in shock and looks like he is about to run away soon.

After some uneasy minutes of standoff, the Bramlebreaker had enough and ambled away, unwilling to bother with them.

Now the Woodcrafters and the social Gravediggers know more of the dangers of the bramblelands.

The woodcrafter vanguard consits of the stongest, bravest and most skillful individuals, so they stand a chance against a Bramblebreaker, however causalities or injuries are quite likely, if they have to take one of them on. So they have to be careful.

They had to travel many more days, had to face some more predators and bitter cold nights, until they reached grasslands angain. At this time their strength was almost at it's limit, and they could not walk much further.

But just at this time they saw something, which they never saw before, again. The grassland ended, and beyond was ...
