Well, the whole thing is it's very short. Try to appeal to the senses, like here for an example [link] This is just a bit of flash fiction I wrote in an hour early one morning after a strange dream. I wanted to try to suck the reader into it a bit.

Kiryu touches the blue hourglass and Prehistoric animals fill the room

Arch Belial and Dark Kiryu go in for the kill, but Mothra touches another green hourglass and they fade away

They arrive at a toxic waste dump

Hedorah comes outta no where and tries to swamp Kiryu with his acidic body, but MKG blasts him with his gravity beams

They enter a winter forest
Zara: This is beautiful
Yuki: Not as beautiful as you my love

The deer hears something and a raptor gives chase and the hunt is over as soon it began

Mothra flies over head and the group arrives at a field
Erik: Why do I get a feeling this place is familiar some how *we see a flashback with Erik and his big sister Melissa watching the stars*
Akira: The starry night, made you think of Melissa right?
Erik: Yeah *sees something in the lake* Hmm

They see what appears to be corpses

Then a crocodile like beast eats the corpses and it appears before Mothra and MKG
Akira: Now that is an ugly beast

The beast attacks but Mothra counters back with her antenna beams and MKG unleashes his gravity beams and it falls dead
*cuts to Erik*
Erik: *having a nightmare and see take a peek*
Erik: Melissa? Anyone?
A deep voice: Melissa........ Kill yourself.........
Erik: No, Melissa!
The red kaiju appears and lunges for Erik, waking him up
Erik: MELISSA!
Akira: Erik? Is it Melissa?
