A new machine is being tested by an undisclosed organization, the lead, Midas Gol, is overseeing the final results

Midas: Fire when ready.

The machine turns out to be a black hole gun, called Dimension Tide, it then fires a black hole, with successful results. Creating a successful black hole, Midas simply grins.

Midas: This is the future, imagine the possibilities.
Kori: Even so, it may have its risks, we don't know if we opened a space in time, or a rift for that matter.
Midas: Just get me the results in by tomorrow, it can all wait.
Kori: If you say so sir.

Later into the night something comes through the portal, it resembles a dragonfly nymph, but something is off about it as it climbs a tree to rest, it then looks for the next thing it needs: food. Looking towards the nearby town, it makes its way there via the sewer.

Tokyo, one of the busiest times of the night, people doing mundune stuff of trying to get work done as soon as possible, many don't know there is an insect creature in the sewers, so far its been feeding on sewer rats, but they're not enough to substain it, so it looks for bigger prey. A stray dog wanders the streets looking for a meal, it senses something, growling at something in one of the alley ways, only to realize too late the insect creature had made its move, only indication was the sound of trash cans and dumpsters being damaged, the owner of the building comes out to investigate the racket.

Apartment owner: I thought I told you kids, no horsing around-

He spots the carcass of the dog, he looks over to investigate, only to be drooled on, and to make it worse, his outfit was newly cleaned too

Apartment owner: I just had this cleaned! What the fuck!

He looks up, seeing the insect creature, it releases predigestive juices onto him, before attacking him too, the insect creature retreats back into the sewers.

The next morning, the results of last night's carnage is revealed, as Angel is the first one the scene.

Angel: Jesus....

She photographs the carnage, before taking samples off the bodies, then feeds it to a machine

Angel: Anaylsis.
D.A.T: No modern species analog recorded, but DNA shows Dragonfly is the closest match, but no matching result.
Bryce: Hey sis!

Bryce, Angel's twin brother, comes up to her.

Bryce: Some people have may had seen a creature before the bodies were found.
Angel: Yeah? Anything else?
Bryce: After the attacks, went into the sewers.... do we have to?
D.A.T: On the off chances, 50-50. Yet this creature attacks by night.
Angel: Nocturnal predator. Although if I had to guess, it was drawn to the lights.
D.A.T: I'll notify headquaters. A lights off shoul be in effect. Chances are won't stop the attacks, should someone be outside.
Angel: And you know what I'm thinking?
Bryce: This sounds like a bad idea.

Later, that night.

Bryce: I don't like this sis, sure this is going to work.
Angel: I like to see what we're up against, D.A.T is recording what should show up. Although blackout isn't all into effect, street lights are still on.
D.A.T: MOVEMENT DETECTED! 6 o'clock

The twins look behind them, only to see a goth girl emerge from the shadows.

Bryce: Madam, if your not aware, we're on a blackout, I'd advise you go home at once.
Girl: I heard, and rumors of a monster going around, I wanted to see it. Should the rumors be true.
Angel: Lady, there is no monster, just some sick person's idea of a scare. We don't know if it is a "monster" Again I'd think you should go-
D.A.T: MOVEMENT DECTECTED! ALERT!
Girl: Sounds like the monster.
Angel: We don't know what it is even so.

A man hole flies open, nearly hitting the trio and missing D.A.T. as the insect creature emerges, out on the hunt.

Bryce: That's a big bug.....
Girl: Rumors were true after all!
Angel: And its hungry.

The insect creature charges, the trio avoids it, but then climbs up a building, and stops halfway

Angel: What's it doing?

It begins shedding its exoskeleton and a mature dragonfly emerges, before it takes off

Bryce: This could be a problem.
Angel: Sure like a giant mutant dragonfly is a problem?
Girl: By the way, if you need help in your secret project, I can be of use. Word gets around, the name is Shana if your curious to know!
Angel: Whoa, easy with the attitude!
Shana: Sorry, temper gets a little high at times. I get infomation on sightings if it helps your case.
Bryce: She does have a point.
Angel: Fine, you help with sightings, you lets head back to base.
Bryce: What about Shana?
