for the shifting seasons event, inner reflections! my poor girl. so en has been an esk for 3-400 years, and during that time a lot has happened. she's not on great terms with her creator, ikkit - and he uses his shadow elemental to play tricks on her, which has always frightened her. it's made her skittish of the dark. swedish summers have long long days and very little night and shadows, so en feels safer in summer. come fall, she tends to get a little anxious. but over the years she's come to view the moonlight as her friend, and has harnessed it herself to be able to chase the shadows away. between the moonlight and the mist, she feels like she has more control over her forest and her life now. so fall isn't as scary to her anymore, but she still feels better when the moon is full.

this was really fun for me to paint! I used TamberElla 's foliage brushes and ah man they really made it a joy to work on this background instead of my usual sorta kinda dragging my feet a little haha. I painted on top of the brushes and drew some of my own grasses and trees as well to give it a more organic feeling, and I think it came out really nice!
