Description
FULL VIEW HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDDescription:
Even before the dawn of civilization, we humans have always been fascinated by the stars and the greatness of space. Maybe we have such fascination because we seem so insignificant, and because itβs the ultimate adventure. Cosmic vision is what fuels our imagination, and what enables us to reach the stars.
ok this is a colab i did with , my favorite photographer.
The idea was always present in my mind, but it finally came to the surface after watching the new Star Trek Nemesis Trailer. I had everything but I needed a huge eye. So Atila was the man to ask.
I also did this because no one did a manipulation of an eye (or at least to this extreme). Also because i wanted to mix some of my favorite stuff. I already mixed abstract with planets (cosmic frostbite series) and now it was time to mix the eye with planets, and some abstract elements here and there
if you're somewaht skeptical as to whether to use this as a desktop or not, use it for 5 minutes, and then if you dont like it, take it down. i was skeptical as well, but now i love it
enjoy

This is amazing! I love how the picture seems to be in motion when looking at the burst of light comming from the two planets( well, to me..XD) and the dark iris encircling it draws your eyes to the middle..the pretty green too, caught my eyes ........Great job!

To say this is breathtaking is an understatement, this is beyond amazing. The attention to detail, placement of colors, it's simply surreal by every given right.

Hey, do you think you could tell me how you did that? like put the planets into the eye.

dinyctis In reply to Bboy-Drix [2009-05-23 00:27:30 +0000 UTC]
Fairly simple:
1) Estimate the size of the iris (color part of the eye) and make a separate document in it. So say that if the iris is 2000 pixels wide, make a 2000x2000 document.
2) Make the entire space scene in there. Save it separately. Flatten everything.
3) Get the circular marquee tool and cut a circle out of it (the whole thing, basically).
4) Bring it into the picture of the eye.
5) Center it on the iris. Set it to "screen" blending mode so that all the light colors blend in nicely. Use the erase tool with a nice soft brush to blend the edges of the space scene with the "fibers" of the iris.
Done!
