Before I even looked at the title of the picture, I thought that it was about loneliness. I see that the floor is dirty and almost covered with leaves. The mirror at the dark corner is broken and has cob-webbs on it. The window is broken and the walls look dirty. So if that girl were to be absent this would be a picture of being in an empty house looking outside. Even the outside of the house is very unkept. All the above are reasons for why I think that the young girl is dead and is now haunting the house. Now she stands there at the window waiting for some live people to come and keep her company. Except she doesn't look like she would be a malicious ghost. She's stuck and isolated in that house, and at times the loneliness can be very cold and painful; but she has to live with it.
Although I could be wrong about her being dead since you are able to see the reflection of her legs in the mirror. If she is alive then I see her as a teenage girl (or younger) who is stuck at home, her parents are always working. Her siblings are either much older than her and are out living their lives or nearer in age to her but don't care to spend any time with her. Neither is she allowed to have any friends. She's bored and in her room full of things that relate to hobbies that never go anywhere. And she's there at the window with a bleak outlook on her future.
This is a well made picture that depicts loneliness and isolation. This would be a nice picture to have for a ghost novel.

Both perceptions of the image could be true, each person can see the loneliness of a shape or feel, but all lead to the same.
