I love the texture - and it looks great with the dark background! I have to say - comparing it with your WIP, the eyes don't have that much contrast anymore, yet they still are the brightest part of the picture.
Um - is this creature dangerous? I just can't decide if I would rather not like to meet it in the dark of the forest ^^

Hm, maybe the surrounding contrasts simply got too strong? Somewhat "burrying" the color of the eyes...
