Description
My first drawing in 2012. When I first saw this picture, I just thought of an angel... don't ask me why, I just did. So I calles it "Angelically"... although her tattoo is quite bad, not at all angelically...Hope you all like it.
Original size: 55x75cm (22x30")
Technique: charcoal and pencils

Insane tattoo.
You should not encourage the models to get tattoos! It makes our work so complcated.

No I won't, don't worry, but somehow I love to draw these small pieces of art in my art But enough with the tattoos now, let's do animals, motorcycles and more now

Wow this was worth the wait! May I ask: How much of this is actually charcoal? and on the darkest part of her thigh, did you transition from charcoal to pencil? If so, what grade pencil because the transition looks perfect. So good.

Oh, I have to correct my little text beneath the drawings... sorry for that. There is no charcoal at all in this at all, only plain and simple pencils. I only use F pencils for the base layers, and B and 2B pencils for the darker parts, and finally 4B for the very dark areas.
I used to use charcoal, but that is so dirty, so I don't use it anymore!

Thanks for responding. How do you combat the dreaded "graphite glare" in those really dark areas if they are 2B?

with the paper I use it doesn't glare too much. I have some, but that is ok... and that's always prrof for an original

ja, das kam mir wirklich sofort in den Sinn... und was als erstes einfΓ€llt, sollte man als Titel behalten
Nur im englischen hΓΆrt sich das irgendwie nicht so schΓΆn an wie im Deutschen...
Und Danke

Excellent job indeed. Feet seem to be hard. So a perfectly drawn/shaded foot draw the attention straight away.
Goed gedaan!!

thanks Vince
The tones are only my new scanner And the tones with the scanner seem more like the original drawing, not so black and whitish

DiRi In reply to vwolff [2012-01-12 17:12:55 +0000 UTC]
no, not the tones... the tones are original like the drawing, but my old scanner didn't get these tones quite like the new one does!
