Dear June,

Summer is almost over, and with its end comes ours as well. You will go back to England, and I'll stay here; although with you gone I can hardly call this country my home anymore. Suddenly the streets are all foreign, and I get lost a block from my house just thinking about your departure. I don't recognize the meanings of stop signs, and I can't understand how the flowers bloom when they know you'll be going away.
June, you've changed me. Never before have I smiled so much because of a single person. With you, walks to the convenience store become adventures, chalk drawings on the sidewalk become masterpieces, and the sun, the moon, the stars, and every blade of grass we walked past are the audience to our play of summer love.
I remember our trips to the beach. How we'd go down at night, and you'd get out of the car and run into the sand, and I'd chase after you. How when I'd catch you we'd fall together onto the soft sand, the stars smiling and the waves crashing and the moon lighting our way. We'd stare at the stars and I'd whisper in your ear that you were my favorite month, and you'd just smile and kiss me and tell me that you love me.
I'd say that I love you too.
And I do, June, I do. So much that every second you're away from me it hurts as if my heart is trying to crawl out of my chest and follow you wherever you might go.
June, I'm going to miss you, and I can only hope that you'll wait for me, and that when we've both finished school we'll meet again. When that time comes June, I hope that you'll marry me.
Until then, I'll write to you whenever I can, and I know that I'll dream of you every night.
