Tonight I was crying because I was all alone. And it shocked me to find that no matter what my problem is, you can make it better. Your smile is simply radiant, and even though I know that those lips will never be mine, it doesn't hurt anymore. It doesn't hurt to know that I can never hold you close and kiss you and tell you how much I love you.

It doesn't matter that you'll never be mine.

I can pretend though, as we walk throught this ghost of a town by night and look up at the three stars that managed to shine bright enough to light our way. I wish I had the endurance of those stars; but they all burn out someday.

But I felt like I could reach the stars as we started swinging higher and higher, and I felt free and alive and happy- and that's the affect you have on me, you'll always have on me. Because even if we can never be, and you will never know the extent of what I feel for you, a smile from you can clear my day and make everything seem better.

So as my mind slips away and I start to leave this place, you should know that I can always be found; I'll be walking the streets of our ghost town, making believe everything is right in my world- and we'll have a wish for each star.
