MainstreamDesperate and desolate
High hopes are broken down
Shattering dreams with words
That make kings surrender their crowns
Mild fevers induce high-pitched pain
Raking across the strings of our hearts
Plucking rancid melodies
And tearing minds apart
A poison running rampant
In the airwaves we breathe,
Cancers twisting their fingers
Around our spine
Filling to the brim with banality
Our brains conspire with cancer,
Social means of sanity dissipate
And mediocrity is the only answer
People never listen
Like thunder, all that's heard
Is noise;
Mixing words are meaningless
And this dumbfoundedness is contagious
Lying on your back
The waves break across
The shores of your mind,
Weathering the rocks from which
You think
Or do you even think at all?
