Thanks. I prefered not to add more contrast to preserve detail in dark zones. This photo has a lot of detail in real size.

..but since you don't show it in full size that shouldn't matter, right?
You could also change contrast everywhere except the darker areas.

I don't make my images for 800 pixel wide, they are made for prints.
I think you should go to monitor calibration. I use a calibrated monitor and the contrast is ok.
