Oh god! The silent realms! Pretty sure I don't even need to explain why everyone gets nightmares when they go through the spirit trials.

I know! I have an OC that's a Silent Realm guardian~ His name is Error, and he loves to announce that. Lol, Zelda 2 jokes. And he works so well, because of the guardian designs! And this is the exact type that he is, too! I dunno, they just look... Human without looking like a human. They're fearsome, but they serve under Hylia, and they have that 'knight in shining armor' look about them that you would never expect from semiskeletal three-eyed robots.

Well, the obvious Zelda 2 reference. And also he named himself after becoming self-aware. He's basically the exact opposite of most robots-become-self-aware scenarios-- he has a personality halfway between a curious child and a puppy. And he's shunned for having free will in the Silent Realm, so he lives in Nayru's Silent Realm alone, collecting scrap metal, feathers, and miscellaneous objects drifting in from other universes. And he taught himself to "has skateboards", as he puts it, and builds his own skate park out of rubble and scrap in the desert. Link meets him after getting pwned in the desert trial. He wakes up, and there he is, sitting outside the circle waiting for him to wake up. And he of course states that he is Error.
He's like the Iron Giant with the personality and speech pattern of a lolcat. Just don't threaten Link, Zelda, or ANYONE he cares about. Error will wreck your shit.

the guardians are so under appreciated in the game... then again they are trying to kill you, and are often terrifying on first incounters
