The "Tome of the Shadow Dominion" is an arcane compendium that throbs with the dark essence of the nether realms. Encased in a cover that seems to pulse with a life of its own, the tome is rumored to have been crafted from the shadowy leathers of creatures that dwell in the eternal twilight of the Shadowfell. Adorned with arcane sigils that weave a tapestry of control and command, this book is the key to dominion over dark entities.
Properties of the Tome of the Shadow Dominion:
Command of the Nether: The wielder can exert influence over shadowy and demonic entities, gaining advantage on all Charisma (Intimidation) checks made against such beings.
Veil of Darkness: Once per long rest, the user may invoke the Tome to cast "Darkness" at a 3rd level spell slot without expending a spell slot or material components.
Nether Sight: Grants the bearer the ability to see normally in darkness, both magical and non-magical, to a distance of 120 feet.
Curse of the Tome of the Shadow Dominion:
Whispers from Beyond: After each use of the Tome's powers, the wielder is plagued by whispers from the entities that reside within the Shadowfell. These whispers cause the wielder to have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws for the next hour.
Shadow's Claim: If the Tome is not used to control a dark entity at least once within a fortnight, the wielder's shadow begins to act of its own accord, occasionally attempting to disrupt the wielder's actions with a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw to maintain control over their own movements.
The "Tome of the Shadow Dominion" offers its wielder untold power over creatures of darkness, allowing them to bend these beings to their will. However, the Tome also ensnares its user in a web of perpetual vigilance, for the entities it commands are ever eager to slip the bonds of servitude and turn upon their would-be master.
