Wow these cosplays are amazing! I especially love the Daenerys dress, the fabric is the closest and practically the same to the fabric used for her dress in the show (so pretty ) Is it a type of silk?

Wow. That Varys guy absolutely made my day. He's really looking like the "real deal" - I mean the one in the HBO series. O_O
Anyway, I really like your Cersei costume. <3 I'm also thinking on making it someday but I'm more into Dany when it comes to cosplay as she is my favourite (female) character from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.
Anyways, if it doesn't bother you, I would like to ask a few questions about your dress. ^^" What kind of materieals did you use? Was it complicated to create the pattern? How many layers do your dress/gown have? Did you get your reference pictures from the series only or is there a webpage where reference pics are available of GoT costumes? Sorry for the many questions, and many thanks in advance you for your reply! ^^

Thanks Alex! I love Dany too and probably would have picked her to cosplay but I didn't think Cersei was going to get a lot of love and she's just so much fun to hate. I've got say I don't normally cosplay villains but it was SO MUCH FUN. I have a feeling I may be going dark for a while to come haha.

I should probably write up a tutorial or blog or something with how many people have asked me about making this dress. ^_^ But anywho... the pattern was a little frustrating for me because it's a panel line dress and it's really hard to get a panel line dress to not look like a tent on someone with sizable breasts (which is me unlike Lena Headey) so that was definitely annoying. But I also drafted it from scratch, there may be patterns out there that might not be too bad to alter. And the sleeves take up a LOT of fabric, probably close to 2 yds for each sleeve.

The dress it's self is a reversible wrap dress with one side (the side shown in the picture above) a linen fabric and the inner/lining is silk. The way I made the costume was just with outter wrap dress but it you look closely to some of the still from the first episode it looks like she has an underskirt and a green corset underneath. Those these aren't shown besides the Jaime/Cersei scene in the tower so you can get away with not doing the corset or underskirt.

The tabard around the neck is one layer of Velvet with the Silk over it.

As for reference pictures as far as I know there isn't a specific website for GOT costume...yet. I used the screen caps posted here ([link] ) as reference and then just watched the episodes a billion times. There are some photos of the costume on display floating around the internet but you have to search and a lot of them are blurry.

I posted a bunch of reference photos I found onto my personal photobucket. If you're interested I could send you the link. ^_^

Wow, thank you very much for the lengthy and detailed answer! You really helped me a lot! I hope I'll be able to create near as beautiful a dress as you made. ^^" But it's still far away in the future... T_T Anyways, I'll start looking for the appropriate fabrics, and thanks again for the information and advices regarding them.

And yeah, it's fun to be a villain, I agree. Still, Dany is my favourite (besides Jon Snow with whom I've fallen in love - madly) but I like to toy with the idea of becoming Cersei for one day.

Thanks for the link as well - the photo of Cersei's Lannister medallion is especially a great help. I've also taken screeshots of the dress - but yeah, they're all blurry... :S

I'm really grateful for your great help, and I hope that in the future, I can do something for you in return!
