Description

Uhhhh these sweeties are SOOOO much fun to freaking draw you have no idea!! X3

Basically I wanted to show different body types and certain things about Merinnians that should be known for those that like that sorta shiz. Plus it's interesting XP

Firstly, from left to right, the lil chubby cutie. Most Merinnians are fairly slim and fit, males work out a bit more but all of the species have a very high metabolism that keeps them from getting too round. Besides, Merinnis isn't known for their snacks like Irk is, most of the time Merinnians live off of underwater vegetation or small types of crab or (their favourites) sea slugs, snails or glow worms they can find in caves that have air pockets. Normally female Merinnians look more like 2, 3 and 5 in the picture, however chubbiness is normally considered as a generic thing of having less metabolism than the average Merinnian; but it doesn't last for very long in the genes. If the first one there has any Teekpoles (children) their metabolism would slowly increase as generation passes. Its much like a mutation, sorta like my friend Kayla whom is a dwarf. Neither of her parents are dwarves but she ended up as one anyway, and if she would have children it would be more likely for them to turn out averaged height than small like her. The same concept works here.

Next is the evil looking one XP. Not much to say on her. Merinnians are usually well behaved, sweet, accepting creatures, the only fighting they would be doing is over civil wars, universal wars or mating. But like every apple orchard there are always bad apples. Unlike with the metabolism gene mutation being grouchy comes from where Merinnians were brought up and how they were treated at a young age. Growing up as an abandoned Teekpole or worse an abandoned Teek (egg) might make the good natured part of the brain turn sour. Most of the time a bad tempered Merinnian is either taken to therapy or banished if the rehabilitation doesn't work out. But running into a bad tempered Merinnian is extremely rare, so not to worry ^^'

In the middle there looks like a normal Merinnian female except for the flower thing on her eye, this is a disease to the species known as Coraliuos Nervitory Cancer (CNC) or "Flower Mold Disease" and it's not uncommon to the underwater race. This illness is not contagious nor is it very harmful. Mainly what the disease is described as is a coral like tumor that grows on both male and female plated areas (eye and breast crests and their fore arms) in the shape of a fully bloomed flower, it is mostly found on the head growing over, under or in the eye. Sometimes the victim's eye has to be taken out as it is too irritating to have the eye in the socket. But no, the disease is actually not very harmful. If it is treated with care, though it doesn't have a permanent cure, it will stop growing and simply stay there. Breast plates and forearm "flowers" can easily be removed without damaged but if the growth is in the head it is most likely also connected to their brains so it can't be removed without killing the patient. This is another generic mutation but it most likely happens when Merinnians are born in foreign water. But not all the time, there's just that higher chance. (Got the idea from Clickers in "The Last of Us" such a good gammeeeee!!!)

And here we have stretch! XD I'm kidding! I'm not that mean. Here we have another generic mutation much like the first one but this is more common and happens 1 out of 50 Merinnians so its not that uncommon unlike the low metabolism which would be every 1 out of 120 Merinnians. A female Merinnian with a longer body would still have the same chance of finding a mate as every other, perhaps it would be a bit more difficult but not by that much. The only issue would be that because the "vagina" on a Merinnian is at the bottom of the tail ( divazu.deviantart.com/art/Meri…) and the womb is within their tummies, because of this longer stature females will have a harder time reproducing as the sperm would have to travel such a long distance.

And finally we have number five. I have much to say on this one. If you haven't already noticed she barely has any fin hair or head hair at all. Another non contagious disease that is slightly more common than CNC but not by much. Only 1 in every 200 Merinnians get this disease (compared to 1 in every 270 Merinnians can get CNC) which is Androgenic Alopecia Microba Disease (AAMD) that happens when the hair on the fin and head begin to thin and slowly comes out in clumps of a few strands. This can happen to both male or female Merinnians but with females there is a 25% higher chance of getting AAMD than males. It is unsure why though but then again it is probably a generic thing like the metabolism or longer stature.

Hope I wasn't too boring ^^ enjoy! Any questions you wanna ask just note me! ;D

Why has no one commented here, I love these cuties! There are so many ways to customize each one. Awesome designs, and very thorough species information. Great work!
