Hatake Kakashi from Naruto. Approximately 5" high, made from super sculpey and super sculpey firm. I always enjoy trying to translate something from 2-d to 3-d just based on a few reference photos. He'll be done someday! Still gotta finish his hair, face,, left hand and a few more details. Also, that Icha Icha Paradise is smaller than a quarter and is a real, bound book! I actually JUST finished him and baked him tonight. I'll start painting him tomorrow. It's about time I finished this guy! Hopefully there will be more pics to come!Β

Thanks so much! Yes, I will be posting pics when he's done, baked, and painted. Also, the writing in the center of Icha Icha is the basic phonetics of hiragana, just reallllly tiny. I'll try and finish him soon! This is just a crappy cell phone pic

Can you make a short video showing your technique? I love clay sculpting too -- only have made little things because I'm intimidated by the larger items... but I would LOVE to do something like this. I just need to see how someone starts out. What do you use as a skeleton?

Hehe, don't say that! If I had tried to make something like this for an art course in my bachelors-degree school I would've gotten yelled at for being un-creative. Fortunately, I found a better school where this kind of stuff was applauded rather than looked down on

What do you need to do to finish it?

I need to finish his visible eye, left hand and sleeve, and his hair. Also make tiny little shuriken. Then I bake him, hope he doesn't crack too badly, and paint him!
