Description
My interpretation of a Steel Inquisitor from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn novels. I've seen a lot of Mistborn fan art, but no sculptures, so challenge accepted! These guys are pretty scary, they have spikes which imbue them with special powers all through their bodies including one through each eye which pokes out the backs of their heads. If you haven't read the novels, I definitely recommend them. I tried to stay as true to the idea as I could, so this guy also has a spike through his shoulder blades in the view from the back. Made with super sculpey and sculpey firm, and hand painted and airbrushed with acrylic paints. He's about 5" high by himself, and 8" with the base.Related content

He looks so good I am scared and ready for a fight at the same time. Glad you included the chest spikes. Did you get the lynch pin also?

I did indeed! There's a shot of his back somewhere around here that shows it....

Thanks! This has since been hand-delivered to Brandon Sanderson himself! He was very impressed, said he's never gotten a fan-sculpt before!

This is good enough that I would say that you should get in touch with Inkwing or... shit... Whoever it was that does the other Mistborn miniatures.
The sculpture is absolutely amazing. The level of detail and skill involved... Awesome. The only issue I have with it is that there are supposed to be 11 spikes, not 9. Of course, I could never make such an awesome bit of art so who the fuck am I to say? Seriously though, just amazing; I'm showing this to EVERYBODY!

Thanks so much! I originally made him to give to Brandon Sanderson at DragonCon, but I was unable to go due to hurricane Isaac. I did some research, and I found out that not all inquisitors have all 11 spikes, some can have different kinds depending on all sorts of different reasons (apparently) I didn't actually intend for this guy to be Marsh, just some random horrifying steel inquisitor, so I figured 9 was a good number, especially for visual balance. Anywho, thanks again, your comment means a ton to me!

I think you captured the steel inquisitors brilliantly here! Personally I imagined the ones through the eyes as bigger and protruding quite a way out of the front of the skull, but I adore this interpretation too!

Thanks so much! I'll be posting a few more views in a bit, from this angle it's definitely hard to tell that the spikes are even protruding from the eye sockets, lol.
