I removed this the first time because it seemed to attract the spammers. So, with a lull in their activity, I thought I'd post it again & remind everybody that LuxXeon produces some amazing product, as well as a varied folder of tutorials. Give him a visit; you'll be happy you did.

Undoubtedly elegant, with a sense of dance and gracefulness. All it lacks is its chain, to make a pendant which I can well see as the centerpiece of the finery of certain blonde, reverberating the gold of her hair.

Thank you, Gilles. There are so many possibilities now that I've learned where to get it printed out (thanks to LuxXeon and a couple of notes), but a pendant is definitely one of the final items I am considering. Thank you.

Please let me know if you do decide to print this. I'd love to see the finished product. I have not yet printed this shape myself, although I have had a few clients who did. Typically I recommend using SLS printing (like Shapeways) since you wouldn't need added supports or any special requirements to get a successful print, as long as the thickness is at least .8mm (for flexible plastic) or 2mm for metal.

Let me know if you need any help. There are several ways to reduce the price of metal prints. One would be to reduce the surface area as much as possible by scaling down the model. Of course, you need to maintain a 2mm thickness so scaling down uniformly can also reduce thickness. Another way is to hollow out the model if possible. Using Solidify modifier in Blender, for example, can hollow a solid model while keeping it fully printable, as long as the solidify thickness is within acceptable print tolerances. It can be a tricky thing to manage the material price, but if you let me know your budget, perhaps I can help you assess some things we can do to make it work out.
