She was brought up by an old religious couple who adopted her; her parents put her up for adoption since they were too young and it was an accidental pregnancy. Despite having a stereotypically rebellious appearance, she's never been really badly behaved and loves to help out her adopted parents, even if she stopped going to church with them after a run-in with some of the more judgemental people in the community. She lives in a small village in the country, so there's not much to do, but apart from the few people who judge her by her appearance, nobody has a problem with her appearance.
Other: She chose her name after a story her adopted mother told her about a travelling musician who played one and came to the village. She'd later find out they had a relationship before she'd met her current husband, Calliope's adopted father.
