Dear DizzyAlyx
When I look at page 12 I can't help but wonder what the overall interior of the cave looks like?
First the two merboys started out in what appeared to be a wide open area of the cave and on page 12 we see the Goblin Shark travel deeper into the cave through a small hole that it can just barely fit through and into a darker part of the cave where Urchin is.
Is the Abyss (where the chain disappears into) outside right next to the cave or inside in one of the cave's passages (if there are any)?
If you have the time, energy and the want; could you sometime draw us a map of the cave and its relation to the Abyss, Please.
One more thing. How far can Urchin go from the cave and Abyss before the chain goes taut? I am aware this goes into my question I asked earlier of how long the chain is.

I imagine "the abyss" to be miles long, (for the sake of the explanation imagine it like a ravine) that way it wouldn't be only accessible from only one point. Down where the Urchin is is very likely connected, maybe coming out somewhere in the ravine wall, as is outside and above the cave, where the ravine would be relatively nearby also.
And yes, that cave is very large and has many passages, so even if someone does go down there, theyre not guaranteed to run into the UrchinΒ Β―\_(γ)_/Β― not that they do go down there very often, being an underground and obscure cave that it is.
The chain is long enough to reach out of the ravine and travel a small length in the cave, though he definitely wouldnt be able to go very far, and certainly not 'out'. He should probably take care not to leave it lying around since it would likely catch on rocks and make his reach even shorter than it already is. But from this we know he can at least get into the area Teddy and Rolph were in, since the chain is a telltale sign that he's been up there.Β

Wait Wait!!! "Maybe if Teddy stops screaming SHE'LL be able to get a word in" Teddy is a SHE??? A MERMAID, NOT A MERMAN??
I naturally assumed that Teddy was a male. Mostly because of the nickname "Teddy" which to me sounds masculine, the fact that Teddy has short hair (I guess I bought into the stereotype that mermaids have LONG HAIR, 
But then again is the SHE you were referring to in that Tapas Comment meant for Teddy and Rolph's mermaid mother?

I was referring to Rolphs mother Vara when I wrote that xD
Though Teddy is designed to look quite androgynous
And yeah, breasts aren't that big of a deal to mers. Clothes is quite a human thing, and they wouldn't need to keep warm like we would. They do wear clothes sometimes, but its pretty much just for decoration :}
