anyway, i like the composition of desktop, looks simple and elegant,
IMO, it might look better if you cut abit of the shortcut and place it aligned horizontally on the bottom left of the screen (above the startup button).
that way, you have a more balanced composition between left and right.
Well, thats in my humble opinions anyways.
