Well that run went south. It's terrible nice of the left arm troll not to crush the real arm, though I suppose they might want one of the shadowrunners relatively intact and the other ones don't look like they're up to it. I love all the interaction and facial expressions. This whole painting tells a lot of story.

Shadowrun is a pen and paper RPG, with over 50 novels and a few video games. The setting is the cyberpunk future were in the "normal world" one day some people started to change into fantasy races like orcs, elfs and trolls. Also magic and dragons came back into the world. So you have a high tech world with magic, in this world practically everything is controlled by mega corporations, states are often only puppets for mega corps. In this world there are Shadowrunners, those are people who operate outside the law. Often they do the dirty work for the corporations, mainly infiltrating other corporations in order to steal tech, valuable employees or for sabotage missions. But often Shadowrunners are not a huge fan of mega corporations and are a bit on the anarchist side, working against corporations and for crime syndicates. You could call Shadowrun a game about mercenaries but that wouldn't be entirely fair.Β

There are turn based RPGs on the PC if you care for them. A place to start would be Shadowrun: Dragonfall or Shadowrun: Hong Kong. Sadly there are no good shadowrun character action/RP games out there yet.Β
